Journalist Robbed in Zugdidi

October 1, 2006

Khvicha Akhalaia, journalist of TV Company ‘Samegrelo’, was robbed on the 25th of August, in front of the Botanical Garden. Criminals took away a bad and a mobile phone from Akhalaia. According to the victim, he tried to resist them, however, the criminals were strong and they have beaten him up. Akhalaia lives in the village Zedaetseri, which is near to Zugdidi, but it took several hours for him to return home. He can not recall, whether he came home alone or somebody has picked him up.

The journalist thinks that attack is not connected with his work and it was ordinary criminal. He has not called police, as he thinks that police is not able to catch the criminals.
