Minister of Agriculture Distributes Tractors in the Regions for More Expensive Price

December 4, 2006

Two days ago, Petre Tsiskarishvili, Minister of Agriculture, invited the regional governors. Shida Kartli Governor, Misha Kareli, was not among them only. The Chief of the Shida Kartli Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Samson Kebadze was only guest from the region. Kebadze told us that only governors were invited to the negotiation.

Samson Kebadze: "Petre Tsiskarishvili really invited only governors. Mikheil Kareli asked me to go instead of him. I cannot tell you the reason why he did not go there himself. I informed him about the meeting in details. As for the meeting itself we discussed the several questions in the agricultural field. For example we spoke about delivering the tractors in the region and sell them to the farmers for law prices. I should point out that the technique is too expensive. Farmers should have to pay 69,000 GEL for a tractor with 130 horse power. They will have to pay only the 10 % of its price in advance. Farmers will pay the whole money during two years."
