Georgian Public Broadcasting (GPB) publishes its Code of Conduct

January 10, 2007

“Our aim is to offer public high quality programs and become the most reliable broadcaster. For this reason we are guided by highest professional standards and ethical principles”, reads the preamble of the code.

The foreword of the 62-page document reads that the Code defines both journalist responsibilities and tools for controlling it.

“The Code is the first attempt of introducing such tool in Georgian broadcasting space. It is oriented towards protecting consumer rights as well journalist rights”, reads the document.

Public Broadcasting says that the Code will be checked and updated regularly in order to keep up with permanent changes.
