Twelve Families from the Erekle II Square Are Exiled of Their Houses Forcibly

February 19, 2007

On the Erekle II Sqaure, Patrol Policemen exiled twelve families from their houses forcibly. Nino Natelashvili, a sister of Labor Party leader, is one the residents in the above mentioned area. She said that she had lived in the place legally over thirty years. Representative of the JSC “Janmrteloba” claimed that these people have illegally lived in the building. The residents of the block of flats lost the trial and the court concluded that those people must leave their flats.

The above mentioned organization has offered these families 20 000 USD as a compensation for exile. “They treat us like we were not the citizens of this country. The patrol policeman threw our furniture in the street. I have lived in this house for thirty years and we demand alternative accommodations to move in. We cannot stay in the street. They offered 8 000 USD to each family and not 20 thousand as it was announced,” said Nino Natelashvili.
