In Abkhazia publishers would be forced to present the first copy to the government

June 4, 2007

The self-declared government of Abkhazia passed the law on “necessary copy of document”.

Under the law the representatives of the publishing and informational products should send the first copy to libraries and besides this, the law ensures the distribution of the product, the dates of receiving the copies and the responsibility in the case of the law violation.

According to the MP of self-declared government Valeri Kvarchia, the law was passed because of the foundation of the informational fund of Abkhazian library and because of the necessity to spread the publishing and informational product in abroad.
