Writers’ Union Was Evicted from the Building

August 21, 2007

Tbilisi.21.08.07.Medianews. Today, eviction of Writers’ Union from the building in Machabeli Street # 13 in Tbilisi started. Writers, who sat up in the building expecting the eviction, were forced out from the building at approximately 4:00 PM.

Last night, they started to take out all furniture and stuff of writers from the building. Georgian Ministry of Economical Development demanded the union members to leave the building before August 18; however writers were not going to leave the office.

Writers appealed the Tbilisi County Court against the Ministry of Economical Development and the discussion of their appeal will start in the nearest future.
