Today the Board of the Radio “Imedi” Will Appeal to the Prosecutor’s Office

November 20, 2007
The board of the Radio “Imedi” requests the Prosecutor General’s Office to start investigation on the suspension of their broadcasting. They are going to bring suit to the Prosecutor’s Office today.

Shalva Shavgulidze, attorney for the Radio “Imedi”, stated in his conversation with the Medianews that the judge at the Civil Court sequestered the property of the TV Company “Imedi” and consequently suspended its broadcasting. However, the court decision did not say anything about the Radio “Imedi” which is separate legal entity from the TV Company “Imedi”,” said Shavgulidze.

The attorney stated that since November 7 nobody has brought any official document to the Radio “Imedi” which could prove that they were closed down because of any criminal activities. The board of the radio “Imedi” intends to appeal to the Prosecutor’s Office on November 20.

It must be pointed out that the broadcasting of the Radio “Imedi” was suspended on November 7 simultaneous to the TV Company “Imedi”.
