Elene Tevdoradze, chairwoman of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee in the Georgian Parliament, has requested a discussion on the next report of the Georgian Public Defender.
Tevdoradze stated yesterday at a bureau meeting that the Public Defender’s report should be listed on Parliament’s agenda. She said that the Public Defender prepares two reports each year. The second report was sent to the Parliament on October 31st and should be discussed until the end of December. Parliament has not, however, started discussion on it yet.
Tevdoradze explained that it was her responsibility as the chairwoman of the Human Rights Committee to remind her colleagues about the report.
The terms of discussion of the Public Defender’s report is determined by Parliament’s agenda.
