Opposition Appeals to Nino Burjanadze Regarding the Dispersal of Batumi Demonstration

December 3, 2007

Today law enforcers dispersed the protest demonstration of young people in Batumi. Representative of the United Opposition, Tina Khidasheli, stated that the law enforcers dressed in civil forms dispersed the demonstration like they did it during Aslan Abashidze’s governance (former head of Adjara Autonomous Republic’s Supreme Council).

“We call upon the Interim President, Nino Burjanadze to stop the violence on our supporters. Saakashvili’s regime is in agony and is counting its final minutes. Consequently, they commit thousands of crimes and it will result into a logical end of the current situation. Present authority will be changed in the nearest future,” said Khidasheli.
