The “New Rights” Blame TV Stations for Breaching the Law

January 4, 2008

The “New Rights” blame the TV Stations-“Mze”, “Rustavi 2”, “Alania” and Public Broadcaster for having breached the Election Code and the Law on Advertising.

Mamuka Katsitadze, the member of the party, stated that Inga Grigolia’s TV program “Prime Time” with Mikheil Saakashvili as a guest was repeated by almost every Georgian TV Company on the following day. Katsitadze added that even though it was a paid advertisement, the law was breached. It is illegal to grant only one presidential candidate with 64 minutes by TV Companies. “I appeal to the boards of those TV stations to transmit the second part of the December 17 issue of the “Prime Time” with the same format as Mikheil Saakashvili’s case. Our demand is based on the law,” said Katsitadze.
