“Inopress”: Dieter Boden Considers Elections Were Flawed

January 11, 2008
Dieter Boden, the head of the OSCE Observation Mission at the Georgian Presidential Election stated during his conversation with the German edition “Frankfurter Rundschau” stated that Georgian elections were carried out with blatant violations and low professionalism. The results were falsified during the calculation of the votes,” the information was publicized by “Inopress.”

Boden confirmed that on the next day he gave positive assessment to the Georgian Presidential Elections; but during his initial assessment he did not have information about the violations that were observed during the elections. Boden stated that the most cases violations and falsification was observed in Batumi Election Precinct.

Boden claimed that alongside blatant violations there was complete chaos at the Georgian Central Election Commission.

According to the head of the OSCE Observation Mission the United Opposition should provide the CEC and OSCE experts with all cases of violation.

Boden stated that he is not authorized to demand repeated calculation of the votes because it is within the CEC’s competence only,” reported the “Inopress.”
