11 Prisoners Pardoned from 46 Petitions

The United Opposition offered the list of 46 prisoners who should be pardoned by the government. The government plans to pardon only 11 from the list. Shalva Ramishvili, the director of the TV Company “202” is one among them. MP Levan Bezhashvili from the parliamentary majority and head of the Parliament’s Legal Committee has told sthat only 11 of the listed people who were considered for a pardon can be actually declared as political prisoners. However, political activities of these people should be carefully deliberated.

Levan Bezhuashvili stated that other 36 prisoners were arrested for criminal record and they will not be discharged from their current prison terms.
