An Allowance Will Be Given to a Poor Family under the Recommendation of the Public Defender of Georgia

The Social Subsidy Agency will provide allowances poor families under the recommendation of the Public Defender.

Leila M. addressed the Public Defender on February 12, 2008 with an appeal to receive an allowance. Leila M. lives in a single room apartment together with her two children and one grandchild. It is impossible to live in the apartment as water and sewage are lacking. The family hasn’t been able to receive gas and electricity for years.

The applicant has addressed the organizations of local self-governance but has not received any kind of aid up to now. The Public Defender addressed Andria Urushadze, director of the Social Subsidy Agency with the recommendation to study the living conditions Leila M. and to provide some kind of grant assistance.

The Agency took into account the Public Defender’s recommendation, conducted the revision of health conditions of the family and according to the declaration gave a rating to them with 43, 610 points which gives the family the opportunity to be provided with a grant.
