Kakha Kukava Shares Infamous Video over National Single Deputy Candidate

May 7, 2008

Kakha Kukava, member of United National Council blames Goderdzi Bukia, single mandate candidate of the ruling National Party in Khobi for violating the law and demands that he be removed from being able to stand in the election. He also insists that that Zaza Gorozia, the president’ss representative and regional governor should be fined 2000 GEL.

Kakha Kukava spread a video record at press conference today where is shown single mandate candidate Goderdzi Bukia’s meeting with voters in Khobi, where Zaza Gorozia, the regional governor and presidential representative also participated.

In the video record Bukia says that despite his membership in parliament that he was involved in running a secret business for years. However, he was considered as political figure. “I am absolutely a businessman”, - Goderdzi Bukia stated in the record.

Kakha Kukava, member of United National Council, considers that Bukia needs to be deputy for his own pocket. He calls National Movement to show society “Business instead talks” and to come to a lawful decision over this violation of the law and to do so without any election arguments and protracted juridical procedures. Afterward “any of candidates would not want to conduct a pre election campaign in the company of regional and district governors, policy makers and other governmental authorities”.

Kukava hopes that with the help of international observers that better elections will be held on the 21st May in Georgia and this round of elections will be better than what happened back on 5 January 2008.
