United Opposition Briefs CIS Mission: Observed Violations in Pre-election Period

On May 19 Irakli Iashvili, member of the National Council of the United Opposition, met Lauraz Aidarov, the head of the CIS Observation Mission and briefed him over the  various violation that have already been detected in pre-election campaign. Iashvili informed the CIS observer howt the ruling National Party uses administrative resources in their campaign.  Violations with the election lists were also pointed out.

Iashvili delivered his recommendation for international observers and these  were especially prepared on the part of the United Opposition. The recommendations provide details of what what kind of violations observers should be focusing their attention in relation to upcoming parliamentary election.

Following the meeting, Irakli Iashvili reported to journalists that the leaders of the United Opposition had meet with all observation missions who are taking part in the elections and provided them with the information concerning all of violations that have been observed so far in the pre-election campaign.
