People Impacted Natural Disasters in the Kakheti Region Request Assistance

The population of the Sighnaghi District was severely impacted by hail; they are now asking for assistance.

The hail destroyed almost 100 % of vineyards and gardens of Sighnaghi residents. Peasants think their families have remained without any source to live on this year.

Zaza Zedelashvili, Sighnaghi district governor, reported to the Radio Hereti that the total damage is now being calculated.  However, because of the tight budget the money will not be allocated to compensate for the damage.

Aside from the most recent damage, heavy hail and wind seriously damaged Sighnaghi district last week.
