Gela Mtivlishvili, a journalist appeals to the court against Marina Utiashvili, an activist of the National Movement. He demands to that she withdraws her words that insulted his dignity and reputation and financially compensate based on the moral damage inflicted.
As we now know back 10 May, 2008 Marina Utiashvili, an activist of National Movement who is also the Principle of Gurjaani Public School accused the journalist of committing a crime that is prescribed by the Criminal Code of Georgia via the news agency that he represented.
Gela Mtivlishvili, a journalist, accompanied with Tamar Koroglishvili, a dismissed teacher entered the school without first checking the information. They proceeded to insult teachers and various members of the board of trustees. Since then Gela Mtivlishvili has not missed the opportunity to discriminate against the principal, has published slanderous articles, and send various persons to intimidate and even tried to bribe me. Utiashvili announced that Mtivlishvili thinks that human rights are defended by meeting in streets or threats or other illegal activities. An activist of the National Movement then appealed to the police and demanded that they punish the journalist. However, in spite of all efforts, a criminal case was never opened as a crime had not been committed.
Gurjaani Regional Court has already accepted the appeal of journalist.
