Escaped Prisoners from Khoni Penitentiary Rounded Up

52 prisoners who escaped from Khoni Penitentiary # 9 in the Imereti region and they are still being sought after from the mass prison break.

Over one hundred fled prisoners have been already been returned to the prison; 52 of them turned themselves in 48 were apprehended by law enforcers.

Salome Makharadze, spokesperson of the penitentiary department reported to Medianews that those 48 prisoners will be have additional time added to their sentences and this will be taken up by a court of law. 

On August 10, a total of 152 prisoners broke out from Khoni penitentiary establishment # 9 and disappeared.
