International Court in Hague Judgment Expected on October 15

On October 15 the international court of justice (Hague, the Netherlands) will announce its decision in the suit of Georgia vs. Russian Federation. The suit was drawn up based on International Convention on the eradication of all kind of racial discrimination.

Georgia requests the court in its pleadings to impose Russian Federation the responsibility for having been involved in ethnic cleansing and discrimination and these acts were based upon ethnic grounds; Georgia demands the Russia to stop all forms of discrimination.

Public hearing will be held in the large hall of the Peace Palace on October 15 at 3:00 PM, local time. Judge Rosalyn Higgins, chairperson of the court, will publicly announce the decision of the court to greater society.

The suit against Russia was brought to International Court of Justice at Hague on August 14 2008 and oral arguments were held between the 8th and 10th of  September 2008.
