Number of Grave Crimes Jumps in Kakheti

Number of grave crimes has increased in the Kakheti region of East Georgia.  According to Kakheti information center, more than 100 cases of severe crime were registered in 2008 and this is for the entire region. Approximately 15 murders were committed. Some of these murders were especially gruesome as to the degree of cruelty demonstrated.

Irakli Kadagidze, the head of the Kakheti regional department of the Internal Ministry, did not provide information about the number of grave crimes that were committed in the region in 2008. He explained to the Kakheti information centre that request on publicity of the information does not work for Ministry of Internal Affairs and its various departments.

Kakheti information center appealed against the Kakheti regional department of the Ministry for the refusal on issuing the information.
