Social Allowance Was Seized from the Family of Bed-Bounded Old Person and Sick Under-Age Child

November 20, 2008

Agency of Social Subsidies seized social allowance from Leila Khvtisiashvili, a resident of the village of Kardenakhi in Gurjaani district. Agency examined the social conditions of the Khvitiashvilis and increased the rating point from 45 530 to 57 630.

There are four members in Khvtisiashvili’s family. 78-year-old Makvala Khvtisiashvili is bounded to bed because of illness and needs to be taken care. 26-year-old Gia and 15-year-old Gela Khvtisiashvilis need medical treatment. Their mother Leila Khvtisiashvili cannot afford their treatment and says that the family does not have enough income to buy medicines; neighbors assist them with bread and food.

Short time ago, TV Company “Imedi” prepared an item about social conditions of the Khvtisiashvilis and Andria Urushadze, director of the Agency of Social Subsidies, reported to journalists that the family is not left without assistance. In fact it is not true.

The Khvtisiashvilis urge to the General Inspection of the Ministry of Healthcare to examine their family again. Otherwise, Leila Khvtisiashvili is going to start hunger strike in front of the agency for social subsidies.
