Director Restricts Religious Studies at School

November 27, 2008

Pupils of Gurjaani Public School signed petition where they requested to teach history of religion in their school.

Before that, the pupils personally appealed to the director regarding the issue; they even published their appeals in newspapers. However, nothing has changed for better. Marina Utiashvili, director of the school, restricts religious studies at school and prohibits pupils to sign the petition. However, the director denies the information. She said religion is taught in grades 6th and 7th as optional subject.
