In 1999-2003 Bakuridze was a press secretary of the former Head of Adjara Autonomous Republic Aslan Abashidze and the head of Adjara TV and Radio Department, as well as the head of Adjara News Agency.

Bakuridze, he said, is likely to go back into journalism.

The journalist, charged with the embezzlement of money was arrested on August, 2008.  Batumni Court found Bakuridze guilty for the misappropriation of GEL 1,200,000 and was sentenced 6,6 years of imprisonment.
