Mother Gave Her Child for Adoption Because She Could not Feed Her

March 8, 2009

Because of poor social conditions one more mother gave her 8-year-old child for adoption.

L.A. a resident of the village of Velistsikhe in Gurjaani district, applied to the Gurjaani office of the Agency for Social Subsidies for allowance but in vain. Extremely impoverished family was granted with high-rating points and the agency did not grant allowance to them. The mother applied to the district administration to get some assistance to feed her child but nobody helped her, though local budget envisaged single allowance for socially excluded families.

It must be pointed out that because of extreme poverty one more single mother gave her 12-year-old child for adoption in Gurjaani. Before that, the mother had applied to the Gurjaani office of the Agency for Social Subsidies for help but they did not grant allowance to her.
