Giorgi Tsagareishvili Quitted Democratic Party of Georgia

April 9, 2009

MP Giorgi Tsagareishvili quitted Democratic Party of Georgia where he occupied the position of the secretary general.

The MP reported to the Medianews that the reason for his decision was his disagreement about strategic issues with the board of the party. More precisely, according to him, the party thinks that it is not high time for President Saakashvili to resign.

“I support the demand for peaceful resignation of Mikheil Saakashvili. I have always had this prostitution that was different from the general opinion of the Democratic Party and its leader, Gia Tortladze. I think, the party should join the protest demonstration. However, the party does not think so,” said Tsagareishvili.

He has already submitted the application on quitting the Democratic Party to the Ministry of Justice. The MP will soon decide to leave or stay in the parliamentary faction “Dzlieri Sakartvelo” and anti-crisis council in near future.

As it was reported, Gia Tortladze is the head of the faction and the council. Giorgi Tsagareishvili is not going to join any of political parties.
