Mamuka Maisuradze Denies Being a Spy

Information spread by Russian media sources is categorically denied by Mamuka Maisuradze who was blamed and detained for being a Georgian spy in Moscow.

Mamuka Maisuradze is in Tbilisi and after Russian media sources spread the information about him he visited Georgian TV Company “Rustavi 2” and reported that Russian Special Forces compelled him to provide them with the current situation in Georgia. He was compelled to plead his cooperation with Chechen terrorist organizations.

-If I had any connection with terrorists as they claim, they would have arrested me,” said Maisuradze.

Yesterday, Russian news agencies reported about the detention of Georgian spy Mamuka Maisuradze in Sochi, Russia.

According to the Federal Security Department of Russia, Maisuradze arrived in Sochi in 2007 under direction of the government of Georgia as a citizen of the Ukraine. He was granted with the Ukraine citizenship and got other necessary documents with the support of the Special Forces of Georgia by neglecting the legislation of the Ukraine. Maisuradze opened an internet café in Sochi with the financial support of the Intelligence Department of Georgia. He used this internet cafe to contact officers of the Special Forces in foreign countries.

According to the spread information, Maisuradze had to get information about the preparation works for the Winter Olympic that is planned in Sochi.
