Office of Medical Emergency Service was restored in Duisi village, Akhmeta District, Pankisi Gorge. Manager of the Akhmeta district medical center Gia Udzilauri said they decided to send medical brigade back to Duisi after the office of the MES was renovated.

“We decided to send medical brigade to Duisi village after the medical unit was renovated there. I would like to underline that medical brigade could not work in the office before renovation because of terrible conditions inside. We talked with the district leadership about the problem and asked to create minimal conditions for work. Now, one ambulance will serve Gorge villages from Duisi village,” Gia Udzilauri said.

Medical unit stopped functioning in Duisi village a month ago. There are more than 10 villages in Pankisi Gorge and they are inhabited by ethnic Kists. It takes more than 30 minutes to get from Akhmeta to Dedisperuli village, to Khalatsna village, to Birkiani. As for Khadori village, it took one hour to get there from the district center.
