Zakaria Kutsnashvili about human rights

December 15, 2014

                                                            Shorena Kakabadze, Kutaisi

Situation in penitentiary establishments, attitude towards the media, employment and legislative changes – MP Zakaria Kutsnashvili from the parliamentary majority spoke about these problems at the meeting with media and non-governmental organizations on December 10 – World Human Rights Day in the Kutaisi office of Civil Engagement; students and ordinary citizens also attended the meeting.

“Human rights situation has been improving in our country. Public Defender’s report is a good example of it, as it clearly reflects every progressive step. We still have much work in this direction and our government will do everything to make human rights situation in the country even better”, Kutsnashvili said.

He drew attention to the Anti-Discrimination Law ("Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination, which was adopted by the Parliament in May this year). “The law is one of the achievements of the present government. As for same-sex marriages, it will never be legalized in Georgia while Georgian Dream is in power; we will not even discuss about this issue,” Zakaria Kutsnashvili said.
