The presentation made of the projects implemented in Shida Kartli

On December 16, the governor of the Shida Kartli region Zurab Rusishvili, have meet media, NGOs and the civil society, in the frame of the project “Georgian government for open governing.” Governor introduced projects which were implemented in the region in support of the ministries. 

As the main achievement of the government, Shida Kartli Governor Zurab Rusishvili named, free media, independent judiciary and freedom of speech and expression. After the general introduction, regional governor spoke about specific projects which were implemented in support of the ministries of: infrastructure, agriculture, health, education, energy and the Ministry of Refugees and Accommodation. Governor's report highlighted Prime Minister's initiative to invest in substandard apple by supporting apple sale.  The amount of the apple cede in the region is 43 377 tones, and the sum gave as subsidy is to 3 470 134 GEL. 

Shida Kartli Governor Zurab Rusishvili: "As you know, I took up the work of a year ago, actually before the election the new government was not fully presented.  It should be noted that in the villages situated near so-called dividing line, electrification and gasification infrastructure works were made. As agriculture is the leading fields in Shida Kartli and in this regard I want to mention the apple subsidy programs, so this is quite a lot has been done.” 

 Government ministry cabinet members also attended the governor's annual report. Refugees and Accommodation Minister of Georgia spoke about projects implemented for internally displaced persons in the past year and presented one-year plan for the future as well.

Sozar Subary also mentioned that in the Region refugee’s residential home-buildings rehabilitation process have prolonged and stated that the tender winner company in Gori, Tsmindatskali settlement has not completed the repairs, leaving the case to the Court and new tender was announced for building rehabilitation. 

Refugees and Accommodation Minister, Sozar Subary: “Land was handed to us in Gori and we are starting the new residential buildings construction over to the next year and in this way we are moving forward in Gori, in addition in all the settlements which are located near the road serious infrastructure projects are done and in infrastructure projects in addition to all of this settlement of the refugees will be transferred to the current year and the next year, two months, or a total of four months from 50 to 50 GEL assistance gas and power utilities taxes and fees plus a small infrastructure projects, which are all on a daily basis and in all regions of the settlement.” 

In 2014, 4 889 915 GEL was spent in the region in the frame of Rural Support Program. Report also presented infrastructure projects such as the rehabilitation of public schools, medical clinics and the construction of road infrastructure. 

George Koberidze, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure: “"These projects mainly involved the construction of roads, rehabilitation of water supply systems, as well as the landfill and various infrastructure projects, we also talked about the large-scale infrastructural projects planned in 2015, in what direction our ministry will continue to work actively."

According to the report of the region Border villages was arranged 9 new wells together with reservoir pressure and the tower - a total of 1 550 000 GEL, and in 6 villages 10 new wells are made with tower and reservoir pressure, also in 8 villages 8 wells were rehabilitated and 3 completely new tank were made, 18 head buildings rehabilitation was implemented. Total 9 476 964 GEL was spent on water supply. 

According to Government officials some projects will be completed in 2015. They also said that next year in the region even more large-scale projects will be implemented in different directions.
