Address of Nongovernmental Organizations to the Tbilisi City Mayor about Free Outdoor Social Advertisements in the City

February 25, 2015

Based on the request of the Eurasian Partnership Foundation, the supervision service of the Tbilisi City Hall sent letter (N. 07/143141584-1) notifying that there are not special places and relevant preferences for social advertisements in the territory of Tbilisi. The companies have authority to issue permission on outdoor advertisements, who mostly rely on commercial interests and they will decide to give some preferences to social advertisements or not.

In any case, placement of social advertisement in Tbilisi is very expensive while in other cities of Georgia (like Kutaisi, Gori and Akhaltsikhe) there are special free places for social advertisements.

We think free social advertisements must have place in Tbilisi too for general public needs. We request to take measures to allocate relevant places for social ads.

On our side, we express readiness to engage in the problem resolution process within our competence.
