On May 1, 2015, Human Rights Center held presentation of its annual human rights report – State of Human Rights in Georgia in 2014 in conference hall of Human Rights House Tbilisi.
The report presents human rights situation in Georgia throughout 2014 and in the beginning of 2015. The report was prepared based on the findings of Human Rights Center, other local nongovernmental organizations, Public Defender’s Office of Georgia and other international organizations. The report reviews specific trends of human rights such as right to fair trial, cases of former senior officials, legislative changes, conditions of prisoners, alleged politically motivated dismissal of public servants, abuse of power in law enforcement bodies, situation of people with disabilities, minority rights, women’s rights, freedom of media, local self-governmental elections, etc.
Representatives of diplomatic corpus accredited in Georgia, various NGOs and media organizations attended the presentation.
