Telavi District Court Sentenced Levan Davitashvili to Nine Year Imprisonment

June 15, 2015

Lela Khechosvili, Kakheti

According to Levan Davitashvili’s wife Ana Kizikelashvili, Davitashvili is innocent. Mother of Davitashvili had a stroke when she heard the verdict. His father had a heart attack and, because of this, he passed away few days ago.

“They tell Levan that they have to arrest all his family members. Thus, they get what they want, they have destroyed my husband. They fight against our whole family,” – told Ana Kizikelashvili to humanrigghts.ge.
Two lawyers, Neli Iasaghashvili and Mtvarisa Kevlishvili represent the interests of Davitashvili.

“We have appealed against the verdict in the Appeal Court. The hearing is scheduled on June 22. We hope they will issue the verdict of not guilty. Otherwise, we are ready to fight to restore justice,” – said one of the lawyers of the accused, Neli Iasaghashvili.
