An Article of Humanrights.ge won the journalism competition

An article Conditions of Female Convicts in Georgia by a journalist of an online newspaper Humanrights.ge, Natia Gogolashvili, won the first prize in the journalism competition for the best TV, radio, online and newspaper report/article on the criminal and penal matters.  The competition was announced by Caucasus regional office of Penal Reform International. 

The competition was held within the project “Promoting Criminal Justice Reform in Georgia by Engaging the Civil Society”.

The article “Conditions of Female Convicts of Georgia” was prepared within the joint project of Human Rights Center and the Public Defender of Georgia called “Monitoring state of women and juvenile prisoners in Georgia”. 

The aim of the project was to discover existing problems in the penitentiary facilities for women and juvenile and facilitate the improvement of conditions. Within the project, the journalist of Human Rights Center prepared articles about issues discovered by the monitoring. They were published on the web portal of Human Rights Center – www.humanrights.ge.
