Roofs of residential houses were damaged in 15 villages of Gori municipality; 12 villages are not supplied with electricity. Gori district governor Davit Oniashvili said the commission for the evaluation of the damage will be established after they will have full information about the natural disaster results.
“Currently, we are processing only general information and afterwards the economic service of the district administration will evaluate the damage and decide whether it is necessary to set up a commission or not,” district governor Davit Oniashvili said.

Local River Suramula did not flow over its bed but torrent originated by the heavy rain in the streets flooded the houses in Chumateleti settlement. Strong wind removed roofs of several residential buildings in Khashuri. About 7 000 families were left without electricity.

“It was raining all night that flooded the River Suramula though it did not flow over its bed. The torrent came from the channels and hills that flooded basements and motorways. Roofs were removed from several buildings,” Khashuri district governor Giorgi Guraspashvili said.
