October 17, 2016

The majority of the City Council members did not support the initiative of the Gori Municipality Governor to establish an Ltd. The district administration petitioned the City Council to establish Ltd Milk Producing Factory.

Temur Khosruashvili, the member of the City Council, declared the state cannot run a business, because it will cause questions.
“The Municipality and Milk Factory are different fields. Milk Factory is business. Moreover, we have experience when with the support of donor organizations the milk factory was opened in the villages close to occupation line, but they did not work and were shut down. Because, cattle farming is not well-developed in our region. The creation of Ltd serves only one goal: to give jobs to their supporters”, - Khosruashvili claimed.

Kote Tavzarashvili, the chairman of the City Council, declared the initiative was not well- elaborated and the members of the City Council had questions. The initiative will be voiced at the next session of the City Council. Davit Oniashvili, the Gori Municipality Governor, neither attended the session nor commented the situation.
