November 9, 2016

Lado Bitchashvili, Shida Kartli

Official reason of firing Zurab Kareli from the position of the head of Gori district Education Resource Center was the audit report of the Ministry of Education and Science. However, local media reports he was dismissed because of the offensive comment he made about UNM on Facebook after the results of the second round of the Parliamentary Elections were published. Zurab Kareli offended the UNM and its supporters in the social network.

“It is my personal opinion, which I expressed on my own page,” Zurab Kareli, former head of the Resource Centre, broke silence with the explanation in social network. He said he was not fired because of his views, but it coincided with the resolution of the audit of the Ministry of Education.

“I declare again that I believe the UNM was guilty regime. They sold 20% of our territories to Russia, they gifted strategic energy systems to the occupant state, and they killed Georgian boys, jeopardized Georgian business… Shall I continue? Yes, I am very happy, that we got rid of the UNM bloody regime. I will be always grateful to Bidzina Ivanishvili for that”, - Zurab Kareli wrote in social media.

Reportedly, Grigol Mumladze, teacher at the public school in Otarasheni village, Gori Municipality, appealed the Audit Service of the Ministry of Education and Science against Zurab Kareli. Mumladze said, his complaint was responded by the Ministry and he will not make any further comments about it.
