Georgian nongovernmental organization Media Institute echoes the developments in Borispol Airport, Ukraine in the evening of December 5 and expresses concern about rejecting the journalists of the Georgian TV-Companies Rustavi 2 and TV Pirveli to enter the country though they had provided all necessary documents to the custom officers.
It is alarming that the journalists, allegedly, purposefully were hindered to carry out their professional activities in the country.
Media Institute calls on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Embassy of Georgia in Ukraine to clarify what happened in the Borispol Airport and what measures they took to assist the journalists to immediately enter the country.
Besides that, it is important to prevent similar incidents in future and to equally enable all broadcasting companies in Georgia to deploy their crews to Ukraine to highlight the ongoing developments there.
