Number of Families with Many Children on the Decline

Tbilisi.27.10.04. Media News. In an effort to put in order the registration process of families with many children, the Health and Social protection City Service of the Mayor’s Office has now established the exact number of families with many children.

A database containing all these families has been created which enables to implement constant monitoring of the number of families with many children.

A special entry has been made for each family. As a result of elaborating and analyzing the existing database (8726 recordings on families with many children) 141 cases of duplication have been revealed and the general number of the families with many children has been thus decreased by 131.
This clarification of the number of such families will economize 60 thousand GEL in the Capital city budget under the framework of the Municipal Assistance Program each year.

The special program, which allocates a financial monthly allowance of 5,5 GEL per child to support families with many children had been implemented in Tbilisi two years ago.
