Juvenile Accused for Stealing a Pram Is released

March 2, 2007

Fifteen-year-old Giorgi Khachishvili, a resident of the village of Mukuzani in the Gurjaani District, was detained for having stolen a pram from the neighbor’s yard. Law enforcers have released him.

District Court bailed him for 7 000 GEL and the family was to pay it within seven days. The lawyer demanded to put the juvenile under supervision though the judge did not satisfy the mediation. The Tbilisi Appeal Court discussed the verdict of the first instance judge and lowered the bail from seven to five thousands lari. The family leased out the house where four other children live in besides Giorgi.

Human Rights Center defends Giorgi Khachishvili’s interests.
