Charity Activity in Kutaisi Prison

March 6, 2007

Last night, representatives of the pharmaceutical firm ‘Aversi’ supplied Kutaisi prison with 82 sorts of medicines.

“There is a terrible medical condition at the prison. We have applied to the administration several times regarding the problem in vain. Finally we understood that the administration of the prison was not going to show any interest to the sick prisoners and we applied to some other sources for help. Nearly 70 % of the prisoners have poor health and they cannot endure the illness without medicine,” said Doctor Irakli Laliashvili, a member of the Public Supervision Commission of the Prison # 2 and Severe Regime detention setting within the Penitentiary Department.

Representative of the Aversi, Giorgi Mamasakhlisi supplied the Kutaisi Prison with medicines of 2 500 GEL and pointed out that similar activities will be carried out in future too.
