IDPs Were Evicted from Temporary Shelter

April 25, 2007

Yesterday, IDPs were evicted from the building on Vazisubani District in Tbilisi. Those people had to spend night in the street. The IDPs left without accommodation urge the president for help.

Eight IDP families had lived in one-storied house in Shardon Petef Street # 15 since 2003. The IDPs say that uncle of the former Defense Minister, Gia Kharkharashvili, had sold the building to certain Giuashvili for 20 000 USD. The IDPs say that the court had hindered their eviction until May 3.

Families who were left in the street demand another shelter.
