Prosecutor Demands on 1, 6 and 1-year Custody for Kapanadze and Korganashvili Respectively

At the trial case held in Lagodekhi regional court on May 19 prosecutor Zurab Javakhishvili demanded on 1,6-year imprisonment for Kapanadze accused of beating Ramaz Samkharadze, radio Hereti Director and 1-year custody for his friend Korganashvili – informs radio Hereti. 

Under the investigation files the former MP David Kapanadze and Giorgi Korganashvili imposed physical and verbal abuse on the radio Hereti director.

The lawsuit was filed against the second part of Article 156, envisaging 3-year imprisonment or pecuniary fine.

Former MP and his friend prove themselves innocent and declare the accusations filed against them unfair.

David Kapanadze together with his friend was detained by Kakheti (region in east Georgia) Prosecutor’s Office on March 17, 2007. But shortly after Kapanadze and Korganashvili were released upon paying obligatory 10,000 and 5,000 GEL mortgage respectively.

According to Radio Hereti the regional court decision will be supposedly reached on June 4.
