TV Company “Channel 25” Renewed Broadcasting

In the evening of November 18 Batumi based TV Company “Channel 25” renewed its broadcasting. The company ceased its activities late at night of November 7 as soon as Rule of Emergency was declared throughout the country.

Policemen visited the TV Company and demanded to stop broadcasting. In addition to that the law enforcers seized the transmitting equipment of the company. The “Channel 25” received the waves from central transmitters with the seized equipments.

Giorgi Surmanidze, the director of the TV Company stated that the law enforcers returned those equipments. However, the Adjara Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs does not mention the grounds for closing down the “Channel 25”.
