Zugdidi Organization of Republican Party Talks States Its Officials were Abused

March 14, 2012

Zugdidi organization of Republican Party states its officials were abused by the representatives of Chamber of Control of Georgia.

As the head of the party Nona Toloraia stated at the briefing held on March 13th, the people asked to come to the meeting were given different kinds of instructions.

“They were made to take off shoes and clothes. They did not leave them anything. They were searched. Human Rights were gravely violated during giving explanations. There were attempts of intimidation. Officials of Chamber of Control applied rude replicas like – where do you think you are, sit still or I will fine you by 100 GEL. This is nothing but planting terror and psychosis in people,” – Toloraia stated.

Member of Zugdidi organization of Republican Party Maia Ghurtskaia states that when giving explanations “moral terror” was carried out against her.

According to her, she was reprimanded for her every behavior.

“The fact of search was outrageous. I thought I was a terrorist. This does not happen in any prison. They did not even let us bring a pen. I was made to take off shoes and upper clothing. Occasionally they reminded me that I would be fined by 10 thousand GEL if I do not say everything,” – Ghurtskaia noted.

Chamber of Control of Georgia continues interrogation of the representatives of regional offices of the party.

These people received about the same kinds of summon orders from the Chamber of Control: “Administrative proceeding is underway on the fact of making hypocritical agreement with political subjects regarding which you have been summoned to give explanations.”
