ICC opens a long-expected investigation into crimes of the 2008 Georgia-Russia war Paris, Tbilissi, The Hague, 1 February, 2016 - Our organisations welcome the decision of the International Criminal Court [ICC] on 27 January 2016 to authorize the Prosecutor’s Office to open an investigation into the 2008 Georgia – Russia war, whose victims deserve long-awaited justice. Perpetrators of war crimes and crimes against humanity should not remain unpunished.
