Georgian Dream’s Coordinators Now Summoned to Police

When representatives of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and other international organizations suggest the government of Georgia to improve election environment, oppression on the Georgian Dream’s members continues. Varlam Khatridze, member of the Coalition’s human rights committee got in touch with for.ge and informed us about concrete facts of intimidation and oppression on Coalition members.
Kist Supporters of Georgian Dream were assaulted in Telavi

In the evening of September 9, strangers physically assaulted young Kists, who had come from Pankisi Valley, after the Georgian Dream’s assembly finished in Telavi. As a result of incident, Khizir Kushanashvili, 25 and Angel Borchasvili 22, got injured.

Socially vulnerable family, living in Tbilisi in the Chitaia str. #33 in the Italian yard applied to Human rights Centre for help after they could not get support from corresponding governmental institutions. There are no significant changes in the results of the polls carried out by American National Democratic Institute – NDI. The priorities are also the same. Only increased mistrust to the CEC is the news. There was another interesting data – although we speak much about gender equality, the poll results show that population will not support female candidates. 37% of interviewed people states the country is democratic but it still needs improvement.

Judge from Rustavi Missed One Red Five

On August 9, Human Rights Center discovered one small poster with the National Movement’s election number 5 and large poster of the same political party in the working room of the head of Military Office at the Rustavi self-government body. The large poster is photo of the President and elderly people; at the bottom of it there is a slogan together with Number 5: “Georgia without Poverty.”

As Irine Urushadze-the lawyer of Transparency International - Georgia told ICK it is abuse the administrative resources and bribery of voters.

On September 3, at 5 am 22 year old Aslan Margoshvili and 26 year old Bahaudin Aldamovi (Mothers last name Kavtarashvili) were buried on Duisi cemetery. The police officers and relatives of deceased delivered corpses through the bypass, because Journalists were waiting in the entrance road of Pankisi ravine.

Young people accidently encountered them and they decided to get rid of so called paramilitaries. Deputy Candidate of United National Movement Accused of Bribing a Voter

Zurab Otiashvili, majoritarian deputy candidate for the United National Movement in Dusheti, gave 500 lari to a voter in Chargali on Vazhaoba (Festival for famous Georgian writer). According to Information Centre of Khaketi (ICK), Otiashvili said that with this money he helped a blind singer. A lawyer with Transparency International Georgia states that this amounts to bribing a voter and is punishable under the Georgian Criminal code.
