Human Rights Center Finished Project of the Labor Therapy for Prisoners

Human Rights Center finished project “Introduction of the Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Program for Prisoners in Georgia.” The project aimed to promote psycho-social rehabilitation for the prisoners and it was implemented in the Rustavi Prison # 16, low-risk facility, in August – December of 2015.
Permission Signed by City Hall and Public Protest

On April 27, building company Archi Group started to cut down trees to start construction in Tamarashvili Street 13 that was protested by local inhabitants. Members of the Guerilla Gardening also protested the fact. They have been monitoring the territory of Hippodrome for several months already. Independent deputy of Tbilisi City Council Aleksandre Elisashvili is also against construction in the recreation zone of Hippodrome.
Life in Burnt Houses

In 2008, several houses were burnt as a result of Russian-Georgian war. “War trace does not easily fade away,” Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili said during his meeting with businessmen in Gori. Garibashvili spoke about the construction of houses for internally displaced people but did not mention about people living in the villages adjacent to the ABL. Neither local authority has any action plan to rehabilitate the burnt houses of locals.
Risky Zones of Landslide in Gurjaani – Population Urge for Help

National Environmental Agency sent warning geological conclusions to the Gurjaani district administration. According to the geological research of the National Environmental Agency, families living in the zones of landslide in Gurjaani and in the villages of Gurjaani district Kardenakhi, Tchandari and Kolagi should be immediately resettled. Representatives of the property management, economic development, statistics, infrastructure, space arrangement, architecture and construction service at the Gurjaani district administration informed Human Rights Center about it.
Ultimatum of traders and investors to Gori City Hall

The removal of the agricultural market from the city center to the suburb of Gori caused protest of traders. After several warning rallies one part of traders occupied the square in the market territory and started commercial activities there. The traders opposed the new owner of the market - Jewish investor.
