Dedoplistskaro District Court Restored Teachers Fired from Public School back to Their Positions

December 12, 2008
Gela Mtivlishvili, Kakheti

Reportedly, Tamar Chuniashvili, judge at Dedoplistskaro district court, restored eight teachers fired from Dedoplistskaro Public School to their old positions.

Director of the school stopped employment contracts with teachers on September 2-3 2008 after the teachers who were members of Board of Trustees at school expressed their negligence towards the director and requested her resignation.

Tea Tutberidze, the head of Association of Public School Directors protected the rights of the school director at the court. The court decision states that the attorney did not produce enough evidence to prove the position of the director.

Despite the court decision Maia Lapiashvili, director, still refuses to restore the teachers to their positions. She appealed against the verdict at the Tbilisi Appeal Court.
