September 4, 2009

Human Rights European Court admitted the case “Luka Ramazashvili VS Georgia” and started its discussion.

Ramazashvili has been serving his term for robbery, damage of other person’s thing, extortion and other crimes for four years already. The Telavi District Court found him guilty. The convicted requests the Strasbourg Court to annul his charges.

Human Rights Commission of the Conservative Party declared Luka Ramazashvili, former head of the Kakheti regional organization of the political party “Entrepreneurs”, to be a political prisoner short time ago. Ramazashvili’s business partner and director general of the Company “Kazbegi” Gogi Topadze claims that local authority put Luka Ramazashvili in prison in order to get hold of the independent regional TV Company in Telavi.
