Ricardo’s Birth Certificate Is Ready

December 23, 2009
Article published on humanrights.ge about a little boy living in the village of Natanebi in Ozurgeti district, told a story about Ricardo Mikhaev and it caused huge resonance in the society.

Next day officials of Ozurgeti district Public Registration Agency visited the family and studied their problems on the place.

The Registration Agency satisfied the oral petition of Feodora Mikhaeva, mother of Ricardo and prepared the birth certificate of 10-year-old Ricardo. Without the document the child could not go to school. He earned his and his mother’s living by begging in the street.

“Birth of Ricardo Mikhaev was proved lawfully and we have registered him,” said head of Ozurgeti district Registration Agency Ivane Menabde.

Officials of the social agency claim that by resolving this problem Ricardo and Feodora can receive allowance of socially disabled people. Ozurgeti district administration promised a surprise to the family for New Year.

Although Ricardo Mikhaev has serious life experience and does not believe in Father Frost, who knows … maybe the Father Frost really lives somewhere.
